Before Pictures

In a matter of 6 months, my mother's health deteriorated quickly.  She was sitting up on her own, able to sip out of a cup, then she was diagnosed with dehydration and due to improper diet her diabetes and blood pressure started to elevate.

Madeline's Story

My mother passed July 8, 2010 complications from Alzheimers disease. However, she endured much suffering prior to her death at the hands of Golden Living Nursing Home in MS. My sister and I started this blog as a platform for others who have experienced or are experiencing the same with their loved ones. We hope this can be a sounding board to bring awareness to abuse that is so common but often looked over because the Lawyers of the world are afraid to take on the fight on behalf of our loved ones. My mother left this earth with over 10 bed sores ALL obtained while staying at Golden Living Nursing Home. The bedsore on her backside was large enough to fit a nice size grapefruit in it. We did not know she had a sore until she was rushed to the Emergency Room... oh yes, taken to ER several times due to dehydration because the Nursing Home staff did not feel it was important to help her drink water because being a Alzheimers strickened she could do it herself. Once it was identified she had a phase 1 sore the nursing home continued to do nothing.  They would leave her soiled and wet for hours, did not get her the proper bed, would not reposition her as instructed by the doctor. This has got to stop!!! Someone must speak up for the elderly who are living with daily abuse and neglect but are not able to speak up!! Please share your stories here.  We are in this together....
